Are you paying an expensive COBRA premium?

March 27, 2014 by Insureasy Admin

If you have left your job, and have been offered COBRA continuation coverage you are likely paying too much for your health insurance. Once you are no longer employed by the company, you are required to pay all of your monthly premium that was previously subsidized by the employer. Sometimes requiring you to pay 102% of the total cost. During the national open enrollment period you have the ability to save yourself money by enrolling in an individual health plan. Trends have shown a monthly savings upwards from 40%. Do yourself a favor, take some time and compare prices before it is too late. Once national open enrollment is over on March 31, you will not be able to elect individual coverage until your COBRA benefit period ends or the next national open enrollment.
