Yesterday it was announced that PreferredOne will be pulling all of their Health Insurance Policies off of MNsure, Minnesota’s public marketplace, for 2015. This means that you will be unable to purchase PreferredOne products from the public marketplace next year.
PreferredOne had the lowest rates not only in Minnesota last year, but in the country. Nearly 60% of all MNsure enrollees were enrolled through PreferredOne. This announcement caught the attention of a lot of people.
The question then is, how does this affect you, the consumer?
If you have a current policy through PreferredOne, don’t worry. Your policy will not lapse or terminate and as long as you pay your premiums, you will have coverage through December 31st, 2014 at the same rate.
Open Enrollment is coming up on November 15th. At that time anyone can sign up for any policy they choose. If you wish to stay with PreferredOne, you will be unable to do so through MNsure. However, we here at Insureasy.net will have all of PreferredOne’s products for 2015 and you can enroll yourself in any of their plans using our site!
The policy rates for 2015 have not been released yet and will not be released until October 1st, so we will not know whether or not PreferredOne will still have the lowest rates in the country. What we do know is that at Insureasy will carry every product from all available Minnesota carriers for 2015, so you will have the best options for the best prices!
